ABC Confident About Invasion

According to a report by SciFi Wire, ABC still has faith in their science fiction show Invasion (created by Shaun Cassidy). President of ABC Entertainment, Stephen McPherson is quoted as saying:

“Invasion, you know, is a show that I think is doing the best work it’s ever done. It is a great, great television show,”

Questions have been raised about Invasion’s future given ratings that are.. unimpressive. The show has a Wednesday night time slot following Lost, but the ratings don’t seem to transfer to the new show.

Show creator Shaun Cassidy noted that ABC has raised the possibility of moving Invasion to another night, but so far it hasn’t gone beyond talk and no alternative time slot has been picked out.

If I was inclined to bet, I don’t think I’d expect to see Invasion returning for a second season based on how its doing right now. At this stage in the game though, barring a ratings collapse I’m assuming that we will get all the way to the end of this first season. At which point we’ll hopefully get some sort of conclusion.

Eoghann Irving is amongst other things the creator and Editor of Solar Flare. He has a life long interest in all forms of science fiction and fantasy and a pressing need to share this interest with anyone who will listen. Find out more at his personal website eoghann.com..
