SciFi Wire is reporting on a rumor that work has begun on a script for a second movie based on C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia.
Making of the second movie appears to depend entirely on the success of the first one, though they may actually film the next two at that point.
Its not clear from the reports which book the second film is being based on, though most likely it would…

Season 8 of Stargate SG-1 opened with a 2 hour episode. Those of you expecting to see it set up for the new series Stargate: Atlantis will be sadly dissapointed. It does however resolve the biggest cliffhanger from the last season.
We’re also treated to the return of the Replicators and the Asgard. Not to mention some general filling in of backstory as far as what the System Lords are up…

Are we seeing a smackdown renaissance? Well probably not anything that dramatic. But what we got this week was a definite step up on recent performances. It still seemed rather unfocussed, but at the very least someone seems to have recognized that what they were doing wasn’t working and they’re moving in another direction.
The Eddie/Bradshaw feud is still a weak link, but to their credit WWE gave me the most…

A smattering of Harry Potter news for any of you that care. Over at the Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator has a story about Warner Bros. getting brass beds for a scence in The Goblet of Fire. Why is this important? Because that scene relates to the Quidditch World Cup and if that scene is there, so presumably is the World Cup.
A release date has been set for The Prisoner…

I’m a big fan of Vernor Vinge’s previous stories so this is a must see as far as I’m concerned.

Its been over the comics news sites for a few days now that Bruce Jones has signed an exclusive deal with DC Comics. Which is great for him, but raises a question. Who will take over writing the Hulk? Now I was a big fan of Jone’s work on Hulk so I’m not happy to see him go, but it does raise an opportunity to see a new approach for…

According to the folks at Nasa, we’ll have a blue moon on July 31st. Well actually it won’t look blue, it’ll look greyish like it normally does. However, technically as the the second moon in a calendar month, its a “blue” moon.
Turns out though that there are occasions when the moon looks blue (or sometimes red). You can read all about it over at the Nasa site. Its not exactly…

About.com has some pictures from the first episode of the new season of Stargate SG-1. Most notable is the interesting new look for Teal’C.
Enjoy

Well my wife and I went to the doctor’s today for the first sonogram. She’s pregnant again, although up to now we’d not been telling anyone. Its week 5 and things have been going better this time, so we were hopeful, but after the last time it just seemed easier not to say anything for a while.
Anyway week 5 is very early of course so we weren’t able to see…

The Marvel movie bandwagon keeps on rolling:
Dark Horizons is reporting that pop-star Jessica Simpson may be up for a bit part playing the mutant Dazzler in the next X-Men movie. This would be with the possibility of maybe a larger role in a future film.
On top of that, it seems likely that Halle Berry will not be in the next film. The rumor is that Halle is not interested…
