The Stone of Farewell is book two of Tad Williams Memory, Sorrow and Thorn fantasy sequence. I was fairly impressed by book one, The Dragonbone Chair, so could Williams maintain the quality for the second book?
Well his writing is certainly as skillful as ever, unfortunately the slow pace of the first part of The Dragonbone Chair returns in The Stone of Farewell and it doesn’t speed up. There’s a lot of redundancy…

The Comics Continuum has posted a picture they received from the studio which clearly shows Spider-man wearing a black costume. If there was any doubt at all, it’s removed by the text that the studio sent with the image.
“You may think you’re looking at a black and white photo. Look closely, Spider-Man wears a black suit in Spider-Man 3. Tobey Maguire returns in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man…

I’m trying something different this week and whether I keep doing it really depends on the response I get. In the past I’ve tried writing weekly reviews of new episodes but I rarely have enough to say about a single episode to justify a few review. The CW Network (which replaces UPN and the WB this fall) has just announced some significant recasting for their new Aquaman TV show (apparently going by the title of Mercy Reef these days). Actor Justin Hartley has been signed to play the part of A. C. Curry who’s alter ego is Aquaman.
When the WB initially ordered up the pilot of the Aquaman show, the role was asigned to actor Will…

So I’m two days late on this, cut me some slack I spent half of my weekend working. Anyway turns out that Warner Brothers have released a full trailer for their Philip K Dick movie adaptation A Scanner Darkly. Try to put aside (at least for the moment) that it’s yet another genre movie starring Keanu Reeves.
The movie is supposed to be a pretty accurate version of Dick’s story and…
