Hollywood North Report has a surprising rumor to report. It seems that the fifth season of Smallville may be shorted episodes. Or to put it in English, they may intentionally reduce the number of episodes they shoot for this season by wrapping production in March instead of April. SciFi Wire has announced that the Sci Fi Channel’s original drama series Battlestar Galactica will be getting an extended episode for the season 2 finale which will be broadcast on March 10th 2006 at 10pm ET/PT.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the computer animated movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will be released on DVD and UMD on April 25th 2006. The 100 minute movie is a spin-off from the hugely popular RPG Final Fantasy VII and features many of the characters from that game.

Actor Andreas Katsulas died on February 13th of lung cancer. Katsulas, who was 59 was resident in in Los Angeles at the time.
Katsulas is probably best known to science fiction fans for his portrayal of Narn ambassador G’Kar on the sci-fi tv series Babylon 5. Katsulas reprised the same role in several Babylon 5 television movies.
