The Variety review on the other hand pours more than a little…

Why The 2005/6 Sci-Fi Boom Is A Bust

The 2005/6 US television season was hailed as a great explosion of new programming by many science fiction fans. Unfortunately as 2006 rolled round that explosion was looking more like an implosion as show after show as either canceled or had its season ended early.

The cause of the sudden interest by broadcast networks in genre television shows can be placed almost entirely on the shoulders of Lost. While the SciFi…

What’s Wrong With Fan Fiction?

For more years than I can personally remember, fan fiction has been a staple element of science fiction fandom. And for just as long it has been looked down upon. Recently the creative element of fandom has been rejuvenated by the advent of the web and easy distribution of their works to other fans. Again fan-fiction was at the forefront of this but still remained ghettoized.

In the last couple of…

I previously reported talk that Bob Hoskins might be up for the role of The Penguin, but now there is a new rumor that Hoskins is actually up for mob boss Sal Maroni. And speaking of The Penguin it…
