Babylon 5: “The Memory of Shadows” Off

J. Michael Straczynski has posted on the newsgroup rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated that the planned Babylon 5 film “The Memory of Shadows” is dead. The script for the movie was finished way back in December 2003, at which point a long and complicated series of negotiations began.

Warner was not interested in backing a film with no big name stars in it, which meant looking for alternate financiers. Unfortunately it never quite came together and the option for the film and script expired in December 2004. The option was renewed but in the end the deal simply couldn’t be put together.

This sucks. Thats really all I’ve got to say on the subject. I was really looking forward to a Babylon 5 feature film.
