Battlestar Galactica Gets Expanded Season 2 Finale

SciFi Wire has announced that the Sci Fi Channel’s original drama series Battlestar Galactica will be getting an extended episode for the season 2 finale which will be broadcast on March 10th 2006 at 10pm ET/PT.

As is traditional with season finales we will be getting a cliffhanger. In this case it will revolve around the outcome of the presidential campaign. When the Galactica finds a habitable planet, debate rages on whether to continue the search for Earth or to abandon it and set up home on the planet.

As the tide of the election swings in favor of Baltar, Laura Roslin must decide whether or not to take drastic measures to prevent a man she is convinced is a Cylon collaborator from becoming president.

The expanded Battlestar Galactica finale will air after the season finales of Stargate SG-1 at 8pm and Stargate Atlantis at 9pm. Unlike previous years all three shows will air their finales on the same night.

The announcement doesn’t specify exactly how long the Battlestar Galactica final will run. It’s also not clear if any of the finales will be two parters as they have been in past years.
