Battlestar Galactica Outperforms Stargate
Both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis returned to solid ratings on January 21st, but Battlestar Galactica is now the top rated program for th Sci Fi Channel. Impressively the ratings rose steadily for all three hours of the new Sci Fi Friday lineup.
Stargate SG-1 drew a 2.0 household rating in the 8pm timeslot with a solid 2.5 million viewers. Thats up some 80% on that timeslote a year ago and about level with Stargate SG-1’s season average. Stargate Atlantis at 9pm got a 21. household rating giving it around 2.6 million viewers. A 24% improvement of that timeslot from a year ago, but slightly down on the shows season average.
Battlestar Galactica reigns supreme however at 10pm with a 2.3 household rating and 2.9 million viewers which is an astounding 109% increase on that timeslot from last year. Its also worth noting that Galactica only lost 3 tenths of a point from its opening night last week.
I think its just a matter of time now before we get the offical announcement of a second season of Battlestar Galactica.

Hopefully the ratings will stay high and convince SciFi to greenlight a second season. And not just because we need more (any!) good SF on TV. Oh no. Because they HAVE to resolve the cliffhanger from the last episode! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!
