Two cast members have been announced so far for Caprica, the Sci Fi Channel's two hour prequel to Battlestar Galactica. The channel have indicated that Caprica is a "backdoor pilot" which raises the possibility that it could turn into a full series if the ratings are good.
Caprica is set some 50-70 years before the events of Battlestar Galactica and has been described as "televisions first science fiction family saga".

Paula Malcomson has been cast as Amanda Graystone (described as a brilliant surgeon and unfaithful wife). She is part of the Graystone family who own the company which is spearheading the development of "living robots".
Esai Morales will play Joseph Adama (father of William Adama), a lawyer who will become an opponent to the experiments conducted by the Graystones.
Caprica is being developed in conjunction with the producers of Battlestar Galactica Ronald D. Moore and David Eick which gives me hope. But is it just more or is the description disturbingly reminiscent of Dynasty?
Lawyers, family drama… not really my cup of tea. I need more scifi in my scifi.

hey this is doc from the itunes podcast: Heroes of Science Fiction and Fantasy, i am a huge fan of the series. I just think the focus on the series is a little off lately. I have for one–took the hook out of my mouth. Ronald D. Moore casually explains things in his podcast and worries about the wrong things. Tune in to episode 24 (coming soon)for a new section called Flesh Wound. I will tear BSG down with careful love. I will also offer some solutions. As of May they are already hard at work on the last season. Hopefully they pull out a fantastic ending. Enough said, everyone take the hook out of your mouths, things have gotten a little lax. Time for BSG to tighten its belt. website http://www.heroesofsciencefictionandfantasy.com voicemail 1-206-333-1297

Aggreed, I’m not that into the Adamas that much. I rather see James Callas.
