Battlestar Galactica Uses Dynamite To Blast Back Into The Comic World

The Sci-Fi channel television series has been a major hit, now officially confirmed as the highest rated science-fiction show on American networks. Filming begins on season two very soon and because of this we are starting to see promotional tie-ins with some other media formats.

The show is now rumored to be moving back to the comic’s field with independent comic’s publisher Dynamite. No word yet as to exactly which creators will be working on the title but I am informed that the format is likely to be a mini series. This allows the producers to repackage the material in graphic novel for the secondary market at a later date.

Galactica is no stranger to being transferred into the comic’s form having debuted in Marvels 1979 adaptation and continuation of the original show. Two other companies have also tried hand and published several issues. These were Maximum Press and Realm Press in the late nineties.

Back issue prices for the original Marvel comics are now starting to show an increase at comic marts and conventions.

Panelologist

I have been a science fiction, comic book and animation fan for a very long time. I honestly believe that comics are an extremely vital and exciting art form whose true worth is only now beginning to be recognised in the mainstream media and this appreciation can only continue to grow in the future. I regularly write science fiction short stories and send them off to the magazines. So far their response has not exactly allowed me to give up my day job but I plan to keep plugging away at it..
