Blade TV Series Gets Green Light From Spike TV
It’s all go for the Blade TV series. Spike TV had already announced the production of a 2 hour long TV movie based on the Blade movies (which were based on the Marvel Comics character). Before that movie has even appeared on tv they have announced that they are green lighting 11 hour long episodes of Blade as a tv series.
The tv series is executive-produced by David Goyer who wrote the three Blade movies (as well as the highly regarded Batman Begins movie). Goyer also co-wrote the two-hour tv movie that served as a pilot for the series alongside comic book author Geoff Johns.
The Blade TV series will star Kirk “Sticky” Jones (Over There) as Blade, the half-vampire anti-hero who battles vampires. The series will also feature Jill Wagner, Neil Jackson, Nelson Lee and Jessica Gower.
Production on the 11 new episodes will begin this spring and the 2 hour pilot movie is expected to be shown in June.
