Brannon Braga Is Done With Star Trek
In news that will cause cheering in some quarters of Star Trek fandom, former Star Trek producter Brannon Braga claimed that he is done with the Star Trek franchise… for the forseeable future. Braga spent 15 years as writer and producer on various Star Trek tv series and movies.
Braga went so far as to tell SciFi Wire that he would turn down an offer to work on another Star Trek movie or TV series right now. Braga started on Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1995 and was later made executive producer of Star Trek: Voyager. He also served as co-creator and executive producer of Star Trek: Enterprise. While Braga has been frequently and heavily criticized by many Star Trek fans it’s worth remembering that he wrote All Good Things… the series finale of TNG which won a Hugo Award.
Braga is currently executive producer of the CBS science fiction drama Threshold which has recently been given a new Tuesday night timeslot. My suspicion is though that if Threshold was to tank and he was offered a new Star Trek gig, he might change his tune.
