Bryan Singer Talks Superman Returns

Bryan Singer had a few things to say about his film Superman Returns recently. According to Singer, the choice of Brandon Routh to play Clark Kent / Superman was crucial. Singer didn’t want a star . He wanted someone who would look like Superman not a celebrity playing Superman.

Similarly the design of the new Superman suit was based around Brandon Routh. The size and placement of the S was adjusted after Routh was cast in order to make it work most effectively.

Singer is aiming his film at an all ages audience with a running time of a little over two hours. The rating will most likely be PG-13 though. Singer is apparently very pleased with the Kevin Spacey’s bald look as he plays Lex Luthor in Superman Returns.

Keep your eyes peeled for the first Superman Returns trailer this fall, probably around the time that the holiday movies start coming out.
