CBS Moving Threshold To Tuesdays

CBS plans to move it science fiction drama series Threshold from its current Friday night slot to Tuesdays at 10PM. The timeslot follows The Amazing Race and is a much stronger slot than the one Threshold currently has. Close to Home which is currently on at 10PM on Tuesdays will then move to the vacated Friday slot.

Threshold will move to its new timeslot starting November 22nd. The reasoning behind the move is that executives feel the science fiction show will hold on to more of the fans of The Amazing Race than the more female oriented Ghost Whisperer.

Clearly this is a huge opportunity for Threshold. The show has performed well but not amazingly in what is often considered to be a very difficult slot. Friday night is often seen as the death slot for shows. A new night and following a popular show gives Threshold a chance to really catch on.

Threshold is a science fiction drama starring Carla Gugino as the head of a secret government team that is trying to contain an alien infection.

Eoghann Irving is amongst other things the creator and Editor of Solar Flare. He has a life long interest in all forms of science fiction and fantasy and a pressing need to share this interest with anyone who will listen. Find out more at his personal website eoghann.com..

I LOVE Threshold!! It’s the closest show to X-files in a long time!! I hope more people catch onto it now on Tuesdays, I’ll be watching!!

The show had a great premiere and then quickly lost ground. But they appear to be regaining their footing and I’m encouraged by such a strong cast. I hope the move does well for them - I’d hate to not have my weekly fix of Brent Spiner.
