Dark Skies Scripts

Bryce Zabel posted on the subject of short lived sci-fi series Dark Skies recently. The post itself is worth reading as he talks about how they pitched the series to network executives and what he thinks made the series special.

Dark Skies only actually ran for one season (sound familiar?) and appeared shortly after the X-Files had revolutionized hollywood’s perception of sci-fi. It did give its own unique twist on the UFO/X-Files genre though and featured a very strong story-arc throughout the season.

Unfortunately Bryce can’t answer the often asked question of when will Dark Skies appear on DVD. He does say that Sony has the rights so thats the people you need to be asking. What he does offer though is a couple of scripts from the series. Check out his post for the links.

I have fond memories of Dark Skies. Since I wasn’t in the US when it originally aired, I caught it on one of its SciFi Channel re-runs. The series had a lot of promise and its probably a shame that it wasn’t bought by a cable channel in the first place as they might well have stuck with it longer.
