Definitive Heinlein Collection
Meisha Merlin Publishing will publish The Virginia Edition: The Definitive Collection of Robert A. Heinlein according to a report on the SFWA Website.
The collection will consist of some 46 volumes that span the entire of Heinlein’s career as a science fiction writer including all of his novels, short stories and non-fiction titles. It will also include several volumes of his letters and personal correspondence and many interviews, speeches etc.
The Virginia Edition will be sold only as a set in a limited edition of 5,000. The first volume I Will Fear No Evil will be published in the fall of 2005 with a new volume to follow ever five weeks. No price has yet been established for the volumes.
I have to say that I’ve really never been able to get into Heinlein myself but he was a hugely influential science fiction author. For real fans of his work, this sort of collection will be wonderful.
