After only one (very successfull) season, Christopher Eccleston bowed out of the new series of Doctor Who and was replaced by David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. Tennant first appeared in the final episodes of Eccleston's run and went on to appear in a short special on the BBC's Children In Need Telethon in 2005.
However Tennant's real start was in the Doctor Who Christmas Special, a A Christmas Invasion. He then went on to appear in the 13 episode Season 2 and is set to appear in all thirteen episodes of Season 3 as well.

Hi there.
I loved the Christmas Invasion. Swordfighting, just my style. After watching the trailer
for series two I can’t wait. David Tennant is absolutly brilliant as the Doctor. I’m glad
he’s staying on until at least the end of series three. As for the regeneration that takes
a long time. My question is how come he woke up from a COMA after Rose said Help Me?
Hope the next series is better than the first

dr who with christopher eggleston is absolutely brilliant. from the first episode i sat enthralled and could not wait for the next weeks episode. christopher is fantastic as the doctor and i must say now he is my favourite. wish he did not leave. he bought a new vigour to the show. hope the next season is just as good. helen
