Doctor Who Season 3 Details

Hot on the heels of the Sci-Fi Channel officially announcing that they will be showing Season 2 of Doctor Who in the US starting September 29th, the BBC press office has released some details for season three of Doctor Who in the UK.

Season 3 will once again include a Christmas special. David Tennant will return to the role of the Doctor and this season will be joined by Freema Agyeman as medical student Martha Jones. John Barrowman (who's character will be starring in the Torchwood spinoff) will appear in one episode of the season.

Guest stars for the new season will include Roy Marsden who is well known to British viewers for his long-running role as Inspector Adam Dalgleish in the TV series based on the crime thrillers by author PD James. Filming on the Christmas special is already complete and production has begun on the season itself.

According to Executive Producer Russell T Davies, season 3 will feature William Shakespeare, blood sucking alien Plasmavores, The Judoon - a clan of galactic stormtroopers and a sinister intelligence at work in 1930s New York. Sounds like Doctor Who to me.

The official Doctor Who site has a photo gallery where the Doctor shows off not only his new companion, but also a snappy new blue suit.

The new Dr.Who takes some getting use to but it is good. They do spend too much time on earth.
