Doctor Who UK Ratings Triumph

The Unquiet Dead, episode three of the new Doctor Who series won its timeslot this weekend according to the initial viewing figures. Doctor Who scored a viewership of 8,339,880 and an impressive 36% audience share, firmly winning its 7pm timeslot for the third week in a row.

While these figures are down from the first episode, Rose, the are up from last weeks episode. It’s also worth noting that these are not the final viewing figures and that when the final ratings for Rose were tallied they increased significantly.

The key point here is that Doctor Who has already proved that it has an audience and that its not just nostalgia attracting people’s attention to this new series.
