Dresden Files (TV Series)
The SciFi Channel are currently working on a TV adaptation of Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files novels. SciFi originally anounced a 2 hour tv movie which they planned to use as a backdoor pilot. however earlier this year they Announced that not only would the Dresden Files movie air in January 2007, but in addition 11 episodes of a series would be produced.

The Dresden Files pilot movie was based on a screenplay by Hans Beimler and Robert Hewitt Wolfe. Starring Paul Blackthorne as the wizard Harry Dresden, the pilot was shot in Toronto and directed by David Carson.

Changes From Book To Screen
A number of changes have already been made in adapting The Dresden Files from page to screen:
- The Blue Beetle, heavily featured in the books is a jeep in the pilot.
- Karrin Murphy has been changed to Connie due to their actually being a Karyn Murphy in the Chicago PD.
- The character of Carmichael was renamed Kirmani when Raoul Bhaneja was cast.

please don’t suck…please dont suck…please dont suck… This series is so damn good that its going to be hard to live up to its potential in another medium. Lots of changes in the adaption are not exactly a good sign. Please dont suck…
