Escape From Earth For Snake Plissken?
Would you like to see a new Snake Plissken movie? If they could tap into what made Escape From New York a success then I certainly would. The less said about Escape from LA the better. It seems like there may be a chance for at third Snake Plissken film, teaming Kurt Russell up with John Carpenter one more time.
And the new movies title (if you believe the rumors) will be Escape From Earth. Keep in mind that all this information is coming from an anonymous source, but I can’t help hoping…
According to this source, there was a meeting at Paramount last week which included John Carpenter and Kurt Russell. The suorce goes on to claim that Carpenter actually finished the script for this movie 8 years ago, but it’s taken this long to get the studio on side.
The screenplay supposedly starts up immediately where Escape from LA ended and has Earth headed for Armageddon. The plan would be for get a 2008 release for Escape From Earth
It’s 25 years since Escape from New York was released and I think it seems remarkably undated (for a film that was set in the “future of 1998). My biggest concern is that Carpenter just doesn’t seem to have the edge that he used to.
