Fantastic Four Sequel Named Rise of the Silver Surfer
So it’s official, the seque to the Fantastic Four will be called. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and will feature a computer graphic version of the Surfer who is the a herald for Galactus, the planet consuming cosmic entity.
Principal photography begins in two weeks in the Vancouver area. Director Tim Story made a pos at his MySpace blog yesterday giving some insight into how things are progressing. Highlights include:
- Michael Chiklis has new makeup as The Thing (good!). The new Thing suit is lighter and the brow will be bigger, bringing the design more in line with the comic books.
- Doctor Doom will also have a new mask
- Work continues on the design of the Silver Surfer with an eye for the details. They are working on the wake that his surf board will leave and addressing how his eyes will look.
The Fantastic Four was a bit of a hit and miss film. On a pure action level it wasn’t bad, but it did lack something as a pure version of the comics. It does sound like Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer will hit closer to the mark. What do you think?
