Fantastic Four Sequel Set
It seems that a sequel to this year’s Fantastic Four movie is firmly under way. At least according to Chris Evans who starred in that film as the Human Torch. In interview with Total Film he said that production on the next Fantastic Four film will begin in June 2006.
Evans says that as yet there isn’t a script for the sequel and there are plans for new villains, but exactly who has not been chosen yet. A couple of names that have cropped up are Mole Man and The Puppet Master. There’s always the possibility of a return appearance from Dr. Doom though.
Another even which might feature in the Fantastic Four sequel is the wedding of Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) and Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffud). However at this point nothing is confirmed.
The Fantastic Four movie was critically mauled but despite this performed well at the box office which made it almost inevitable that a sequel would be made. I really hope they re-think the villains for the sequel though. Personally I’d like to see Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Now that would make for an impressive film.
