Gary Oldman Will Return For Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
In news that will relieve many fans of the Harry Potter movie adaptations, it has now been confirmed that Gary Oldman will in fact be returning to the role of Sirius Black for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It is a role which he has played in the last two movies.
Some weeks back after filming had begun on the fifth movie in the Harry Potter series there was speculation that since Gary Oldman did not have a contract he might not be returning for the new movie. However Oldman’s manager Doug Urbanski has said that a deal was concluded on March 21st.
The character of Sirius Black plays a key role on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and obviously having to replace Oldman would have been a blow. However it’s actually not uncommon to start filming before all the contracts are in place. Movies are filmed more by location than story sequence so they don’t need all their actors at the beginning of filming.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is scheduled for a 2007 release.
