Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Movie Passes $400 million

In news that must be making some people very very happy (and rich), it seems that the world wide take for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is now being estimated at some $408 million. These figures put Goblet of Fire on course to be the most successful Harry Potter film so far.

Here in the US Goblet of Fire raked in an impressive $81 million over the Thanksgiving weekend taking its US gross to approximately $201 million. Thats better than either Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets or Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. In fact Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is officially the fourth fastest movie to reach the $200 million mark, beaten only by Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Star Wars: Episode III

Goblet of Fire has been doing equally well abroad earning some $51 million in the UK, $35 million in Germany and over $13 million in Mexico.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that by all accounts this may be the best Harry Potter movie so far.
