Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Movie Scheduled
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix isn’t due out until next year, but Warner Bros. Pictures have already targeted a release date for its sequel, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which will be the sixth movie in the series.
Presumably hoping time the sixth film near to the release J.K. Rowling’s final Harry Potter book, Warner Bros. are looking to open on November 28th, 2008, which is of course Thanksgiving Day weekend. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is already in production and a release date of July 13th 2007 has been scheduled.
I wasn’t entirely satisfied by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince when I read it, finding the book rather slow for the first two thirds, with all the action happening at the end. It will be interesting to see how they edit it down to movie size and how much of the Voldemort sequences end up in the film.
