Indiana Jones 4 to Film In 2007

In an interview with Empire magazine, George Lucas said that he, Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg are all aiming to film the fourth Indiana Jones movie by mid-2007 hoping to have the movie released to theaters during 2008. So far however, nothing is confirmed and there is the ever present problem of getting everyone’s calendar aligned.

On the subject of what the story will be for Indy 4, Lucas was less than clear. First he claimed that people’s expectations will be so high that there’s just no way he can deliver. Then he said that nobody would do it unless they can deliver. Um….

At this point Lucas starts talking about a McGuffin and how it was a little too “connected” so some people were against using it.

What does that mean exactly? I’m not entirely sure. Best I can guess is that just like the first movie had the Ark of the Covenant and the third movie had the Grail, this movie must have something similar which Indy is chasing. And by connected I have to assume it’s another religious artifact. Part of the cross maybe?

Anyway the important thing is that Indiana Jones 4 is inching closer to reality!
