Jeff VanderMeer Assistant Director of Shared Worlds Writing Program
I recieved a press release announcing that writer Jeff VanderMeer has been named as the Assistant Director of Wofford College’s Shared Worlds Creative Writing Program.
The program brings high school students, authors, artists, designers and scientists together for two weeks where guided by course instructors and guest authors the students will design their own imaginary worlds.

As part of his role, VanderMeer will teach during the two week course. Also participating in Shared Worlds are writers Tobias Buckell and Ekaterina Sedia.
Jeff VanderMeer has taught at the Clarion Workshop amongst other places. The fantasy writer is the winner of two World Fantasy awards, and amongst other things is a regular columnist on the Amazon book culture blog.
Wofford College is a liberal arts college in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Founded in 1854 it is one of the few four-year institutions in the southeaster United States that was founded before the American Civil War and still operates on its original campus. In 2002 the 145 acre campus was designated as an arboretum.
