Providing the Information That Sci-Fi Fans Need

JMS Star Trekking

So I’m randomly surfing the web following links from one sci-fi site to another (yup I’m that big of a geek) when I happen upon a blog entry discussing a treatment for a Star Trek series that Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski apparently had a hand in.

I won’t recap the whole post (just follow the link, thats what its for) but I found the news intriguing. I’m really not sure whether I’d like to see a Trek series from JMS, but then on the other hand I haven’t had the slightest interest in the last two Trek series anyway. So really how could it be any worse?

I’m a big JMS fan. Loved B5, enjoyed Jeremiah, and enjoy his comics work too. I’m just not sure that its a good idea to have him play in the coporately owned and heavily established sandpit that is the Trek universe. Too many possibilities for half-assed versions of originally cool ideas I think.

Eoghann Irving is amongst other things the creator and Editor of Solar Flare. He has a life long interest in all forms of science fiction and fantasy and a pressing need to share this interest with anyone who will listen. Find out more at his personal website eoghann.com..
