Ken MacLeod Talks About The Night Sessions
Over at the Orbit website, Ken MacLeod makes a quick pitch for his latest science fiction novel The Night Sessions. At some point in the next week or two I plan on explaining why Ken MacLeod is in fact the best science fiction writer that you haven’t read.

The Night Sessions is a science fiction crime novel set in 2037 with a backstory that involves faith based terrorism. Apparently the book features robots, space elevators, presbyterian terrorists (wouldn’t they be about the most miserable terrorists ever?), sinister russians and a gothic lolita secret policeman.
More importantly it’s set in Leith and there’s a detective with a dark past. Books set in Edinburgh are automatically good. Trust me on this one I used to live there so I’m not remotely biased! Detective books set in Edinburgh are even better.
And if that hasn’t convinced you to give MacLeod a try, how about reading the free excerpt of The Night Sessions that Orbit have posted?
Unfortunately The Night Sessions hasn’t been published in the US yet, but you can get some of MacLeod’s other novels and you ought to.
