Martha Wells Talks Ile-Rien and Stargate:Atlantis
The SciFi Wire offered up a short interview with fantasy author Martha Wells about The Gate of Gods, the third and final book in her Fall of Ile-Rien trilogy of novels. During the interview she notes that she will be writing a couple of short stories also set in the world of Ile-Rien. The new stories will be publihed in the magazine Black Gate.
The Gate of Gods is currently available in hardback form and well worth your attention. As, in my opinion, is pretty much anything written by Martha Wells. Unfortunately SciFi Wire really doesn’t have anything to say about her new book. But I’m pleased to see it’s getting good reviews on Amazon and its on my list to read (thats a long list right now mind you).
The main reason Martha Wells got SciFi Wire’s attention is that her next book up is called Stargate Atlantis: Reliquary. Thats right, one of the most original fantasy writers of her generation is writing a sci-fi book based on a tv series. That one kind of caught me by surprise.
I don’t usually read tv spinoff books, but I may have to check this one out. Yes I really am that big a fan of Marth Well’s writing.
