Mirrormask Trailer Online

Twitch have published a direct link to the online trailer for Mirrormask, a film based on the work of writer Neil Gaiman and artist Dave McKean. The trailer is in Apple’s Quicktime format and is high quality.

Having watched it and not knowing a great deal about the project, my first reaction is to be impressed at how accurately the Jim Henson company has recreated Dave McKean’s unique visual style.

MirrorMask is about a 15 year old girl who dreams that she is in a strange world with two opposing queens, bizarre creatures and masked inhabitants on the eve of her mother’s major surgery. The white queen has fallen ill and can only be restored by the MirrorMask. It’s up to Helena to find it, but she starts to wonder if she is in a dream or something more sinister.

From the sound of things it’s something of a modern Alice in Wonderland and with the team of Gaiman and McKean (who have really never let me down on anything they’ve worked on together) I think this one may be a must see.
