New Series from Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore
It seems we can expect lots more sci-fi goodness from Ronald D. Moore, executive producer of the new Battlestar Galactica series. He has recently signed a 2 year development deal with NBC Universal Television. The deal will see him create and develop several new series with an emphaiss on science fiction projects.
Currently Moore has two series under development: Pen and the Sword, a fantasy series for NBC and Warehouse 13 a new supernatural series for the Sci Fi Channel. Moore will remain executive producer of Battlestar Galactica however.
Pen and the Sword is about a young man working in a building that has a portal to an alternate universe which is similar to our medieval period. Warehouse 13 on the other hand is about two government officials who are banished to a storage facitiliy in North Dakota where all the items have a supernatural or fantastical history.
Hmm, both shows have possibilities, but neither of them is immediately jumping out as a new sci-fi classic. Then again, how many of you predicted the new Battlestar Galactica would be the most highly regarded science fiction series of the last year?
