Nicholas Cage To Star In The Golden Man
According to Variety, yet another Philip K. Dick story is being adapted as a movie. This time its The Golden Man. Nicholas Cage will star in the movie as Chris Johnson, a man with the ability to visualize future events. Starring along side Cage will be Julianne Moore and Cage will also serve as one of the film’s producers.
For reasons I’m not clear about, the movie will not be called The Golden Man, but instead will be called NEXT. In Philip K. Dick’s short story, Chris Johnson is a man with the ability to visualize futuer events and then affect the outcome of those events. During the story he must evade capture from government agents who try to track him down while he attempts to prevent a terroristic event. Julianne Moore will play Callie Ferris, one of the government agents.
NEXT is scheduled to be in theaters during 2007.
