Nicolas Cage To Star In Next
Actor Nicolas Cage is lined up to star in Next an adaptation of yet another Philip K. Dick story. The movie should begin production this summer with a release some time in 2006. Cage will also produce and the screenplay will be by Gary Goldman and Jason Koomick
Next is based on a PKD story called The Golden Man and is about a man with the ability to see a small way into the future. He uses this skill to outsmart a secret government agency which is attempting to capture him and prevent a terrorist attack.
Philip K. Dick has proved particularly popular for film adaptation with Bladerunner and Total Recal both based on PKD stories. Currently A Scanner Darkly which is also based on a Philip K. Dick story is in production as well.
