No Keith Richards Cameo in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead man’s Chest
It looks as though the heavily speculated on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest cameo by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones may not be happening after all. Talk of a possible cameo started when Johnny Depp who plays Captain Jack Sparrow acknowledged that he borrowed the mannerisms for his character from Keith Richards.
The plan had been to have Richards play the father of Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow. Richards met with the film makers but nothing has been shot and Richards has not signed anything. Dead Man’s Chest is currently filming in the Bahamas and the third movie will be filmed straight afterwards though it does not yet have a name and the script is not finished.
Keith Richards has been quoted as saying “The idea of working for Disney gives me the shivers in the first place.” which doesn’t make things look very hopeful. At this point a cameo in Dead Man’s Chest seems unlikely but the possibility of an appearance by Richards in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie is still there.
I’m not really sure how much a cameo by Richards would honestly add to the movie so speaking purely for myself I’m not too concerned whether this one pans out or not.
