Peter David Gets Web Job

Peter David has been picked as the new scribe for the upcoming “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” comic, replacing the previously scheduled writer Mark Waid.

It’s reported that Waid voluntary removed himself from the job because of personal reasons and he was at pains to stress that he had not fallen out with the comic publisher.

Spidey was the first character that David wrote at Marvel but perhaps his most remembered comic work was the long run he did on the Incredible Hulk title. His most recent product for the company was Captain Marvel.

The new book which launches later this year will also feature art by Mike Wieringo

I have been a science fiction, comic book and animation fan for a very long time. I honestly believe that comics are an extremely vital and exciting art form whose true worth is only now beginning to be recognised in the mainstream media and this appreciation can only continue to grow in the future. I regularly write science fiction short stories and send them off to the magazines. So far their response has not exactly allowed me to give up my day job but I plan to keep plugging away at it..
