Production Starts for M. Night Shyamalan’s Lady in the Water

Production has begun on the latest movie by M. Night Shyamalan (The Village, Signs, Unbreakable, Sixth Sense). Titled Lady in the Water the movie stars Paul Giamatti, Bryce Dallas Howard amongst others and is being produced by Warner Bros.

Lady in the Water is based around a story conceived by M. Night Shyamalan for his children. A building manager named Cleveland Heep, played by Paul Giamatti rescues a mysterious woman from danger and discovers that she is actually a character froma bedtime story who is trying to get back to her world.

As the story evolves Cleveland discovers that he too is a character in the same bedtime story.. He works with the other tennants of the building to help protect this fragile young woman from the deadly creatures that are in the story.

Lady in Water will film on location in Philadelphia (which has been the case with Shyamalan’s previous movies) and will be released worldwide by Warner Bros Pictures and is aimed for release on July 1st 2006.

I’m a huge fan of M. Night Shyamalan and have enjoyed even his weaker movies so of course I’m eager to see this and to find out more about it. From the sound of things it may be a little different to his previous fair, but at the same time it has a lot of elements in common with them too.
