Read The First Chapter of the Serenity Novelization Online
Simon & Schuster Australia have put the first chapter of Serenity online for us to read. So for those of you trying to keep track thats chapter one of Serenity, a novel written by Keith DeCandido which is based on the movie Serenity which was written and directed by Joss Whedon, which in turn is based on the short lived tv series Firefly which was created (but not entirely written) by Joss Whedon. Okay?
Now before you get too excited, if you read this chapter you’re not going to get lots of spoilers for Serenity. This is very much an introductory chapter, but it is enough to give you a feel for Keith DeCandido’s writing style if you’re not already familiar with it.
From my reading, it looks as though DeCandido has done a fine job of capturing the tone of the Firefly series (and hopefully the movie too) and its also an interesting read in that we get a glimpse of some of the characters as they were prior to the tv series.
