Robert Carlyle Joins 28 Weeks Later Cast
The cast of 28 Weeks Later (the sequel to 28 Days Later) just got a major upgrade in my mind with the addition of actor Robert Carlyle. Carlyle is an accomplished actor who is perhaps best known in the States for his role in The Full Monty, but that doesn’t do his range justice.
Carlyle (45) has also starred in the movies The World Is Not Enough and Trainspotting as well as appearing in the tv series Cracker and starring in the show Hamish Macbeth. I believe he is also scheduled to play Durza in the movie adaptation of Eragon.
28 Weeks Later, which is being directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, has already started shooting in London and the cast includes Harold Perrineau, Rose Byrne, Catherine McCormack, Imogen Poots, Idris Elba, Jeremy Renner and Mackintosh Muggleton.
As the name suggests the movie will pick up 6 months after the events of 28 Days Later with the military attempting to return families to their London homes when a second outbreak of the virus (which turns people into aggressive zombie like creatures) occurs.
28 Weeks Later is being produced by Danny Boyle who directed the original movie.
