Smallville Season 5 May Be Cut Short
Hollywood North Report has a surprising rumor to report. It seems that the fifth season of Smallville may be shorted episodes. Or to put it in English, they may intentionally reduce the number of episodes they shoot for this season by wrapping production in March instead of April. However there is also the possibility that to make up for this they may shoot an increased number of episodes for season six of Smallville.
The reason I find this rumor surprising is that Smallville is enjoying perhaps its greatest success ever. Ratings have risen following its move to a new night and the 100th episode managed to pull in an impressive 6.3 million audience.
So why cut the season short? Well if the rumor is true it could be as simple as the fact that next season the WB Network and UPN are combining to form the CW Network. Obviously the fallout from this move is substantial and many shows will be dropped completely. Smallville is certain to return, but it is possible that the process of combining the two networks may mean less hours are available at the moment.
Or the whole thing could just be a rumor. Time will tell!

I certainly will be keeping my fingers crossed that they will not shorten the season 5 of smallville, but I suppose I can deal with it as long as they continue to develop more and more seasons to come. I’am overwhelmed with smallville, it is in my opinion one of the most creative and wholsome shows on television today and the morals within are fantastic, GREAT JOB PEOPLE !!!!! I hope that the WB network will continue this adventure for seasons to come!! If not to much to ask could You email me with any new info on this rumor Please it would be much appreciated, thank you
