Smallville Season 5 Trailer - Arrival

The WB has been airing trailers for the fifth season of Smallville. Over at Devoted To Smallville they've got a capture of the trailer for the opening episode, Arrival, available in WMV format for your viewing pleasure.
I think it would be more accurate to call it a teaser trailer rather than a trailer. It's about 20 seconds long all told and mainly consists of very short action clips. Just enough to get you curious about what's going on.
The tag line of the "The boy becomes a man." accompanied by images of Lana and Clark apparently getting very intimate is bound to raise some interesting speculation though.

I think in the 100th episode it will be his parents that get killed if you think about it
its the most likely thing that will happen because Lois, Lana, and Lex all go on in the
series and DC comics just bought the rights to the Chloe Sullivan character. Plus the only
reason Clark stayed in Smallville and went To Central Kansas was because he needed to help
his parents on the farm but if they die then he will probably go to Metropolis University
which we all know he does in the end.

don’t think so. his parents won’t die. you must not keep track of the comic books. lana will die some way
some how just not right now. Besides she is the one he loves the most. clark is destined with lois unless DC
some how changes supermans history from the comic books which i don’t see happening. everything they’ve
had has been from the comic books.

i think its possible that pete could somehow be brought back and killed, also its been hinted that more than one character will die, i will not be surprised to see the end of lionel - he’s gonna go. the producers will stay as true as they can 2 the comics so that means lois is safe. pete dying would be such an anti climax and 4 me it fits.

No.. Lana Lang does die.. That why he goes to Metropolis in the Superman movies..
He loses the love of his life. Think about it.. If Lana didnt die why would he hook up
with Lois Lane in Metropolis.. I just got done watching trailers for the new episodes and he
also reveals his secret to Lana.. I personally think Lex is gonna have something to do
with her death.. He does turn out to be Clarks greatest enemy.. And at the end of the last
episode he was trying to take down Jonathan and Clark and Lex had that huge fight in that one
episode. So yes Lana is gonna die.. Not anytime soon though. I don’t think she’ll die til
close to the end of the season.

At first I though Johnathan was going to die because he is long overdue for dying. In the Superman movies Johnathan dies of a heartattack before clark even discovers the fortress of solitute (end of 4th season). But the 100th episode also said that someone he loves will die in a car crash, Johnathan does not die that way unless the writers switched it around. I hope to god its not lana. I think it should be johnathan and maybe even lional because they mentioned two might die.

I think people should read the comic books before using them as evidence. Regardless of who dies
(and we all know who it is by now, at least I do), Lana lives a long and full life as does Pete (who
she marries and who also becomes POTUS for a while). Plus, Lana dying (which she does not) is not
the reason why Clark moves to Metropollis in the original movies most obviously because she is in
the third movie! played by Annette O’tool no less! Loeb has been working on Smallville for the last
three seasons, get a clue!

u guys are all wrong if u havent even seen the episode lana lives and jonathen
dies because of his heart problems. At the beginning Lana dies because clark
tells lana his secret. but then clark goes to jor-el and gets him to go back in
time to let lana live but someone has to take lanas place in dieing so clarks dad
dies instead. and then in the next episode clark and lana break up and i think
they arent frends any more. im not sure.

I really want to see Chloe and clark together. They make such a cute couple, all
clark thinks about is Lana. I really hope that Lana dies, bec. of her Clark
can’t really express his true emotions. I feel that Chloe and Clark would be a
real good couple. Face it Chloe deserves at least a date, they haven’t even
tried going out, and face it if they didn’t go out how does Clark know that he
doesn’t have any real feelings for Chloe.

They don’t make a cute couple, Chloe is a wet blanket, she’s a sidekick, she started
as a comedy partner for Pete and without him she was only good for linking plots (i.e. causing
trouble) and introducing Lois into the show. 2. Clark only thinks about Lana because he’s in
love with her! 3. They have already been together, they tried it out back in season two and
it was lame, she doesn’t deserve a date and why would Clark have any feelings for her? She’s
only ever caused trouble for him with the exception of about two occasions. No way!

I know, I know, season 5 is out, but some of you have it wrong, Lana won’t die,
she’s in Superman 3 played by Annette O’Toole. Which is why she got the part as
Martha Kent in Smallvile. I’m sure Chloe will be killed off eventually. And as
for everyone that has said it’s gonna be Lois…you’re morons.
