Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2 DVD Release

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2 will be released on DVD on December 6th 2005. The Emmy Award winning animated series aired on the Cartoon network in 5 12 minute episodes and tells the story of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi as they fight against General Grievous.

The five 12 minute chapters in Volume 2 of The Clone Wars chronicle Anakin’s rise to Jedi Knight and General Grievous attack on the Republic captial which leads into the events in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The animated series was directed by Genndy Tartakovsky with Art Direction by Paul Rudish. The series has been praised by many as closer to the spirit of the original Star Wars trilogy than the prequel trilogy. The stylised animation style does have its critics though.

Each chapter on the DVD comes with an exclusive audio commentary by Tartakovsky and his team of artists. Additional bonus material includes the brand new featurette Connecting the Dots which shows how the Clone Wars series connects to Episode III. There will aslo be two galleries of animation concept art, storyboards and sketches. Rounding out the DVD is a playable demo for the Xbox version of Star Wars Battlefront II with two entire levels from the game.
