Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Sets Opening Day Record
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is already set to break box office records. The midnight showings of the film grossed some $16.5 million alone and by the end of Thursday Revenge of the Sith had earned over $50 million in the US and Canada alone.
Previous record holders were Spider-Man 2 with $40.4 million for its opening day and Shrek 2 with $44.8 million in a single day (its fourth day of release). At this rate we can expect Episode III to have a record breaking opening weekend as well.
