Stargate SG-1: Arthur’s Mantle Discussion
I’m trying something different this week and whether I keep doing it really depends on the response I get. In the past I’ve tried writing weekly reviews of new episodes but I rarely have enough to say about a single episode to justify a few review. So instead I thought I’d just throw out some random comments on the episode and encourage everyone else to post their thoughts on it too.
Since this is a post about an episode that’s only just broadcast for the first time… don’t read any further if you don’t want to be spoiled.
I mean it!
I’ve actually been wondering for a few weeks now if they were ever going to get back to the Arthurian theme they threw out there at the beginning of this season so when I saw this week’s title I thought we might see some progress in the season’s story arc.
The whole “out of phase” thing is one of those annoying chestnuts that every sci-fi show seems to feel the need to use. In this case it just boiled down to one of those annoying puzzle room scenarios that SG-1 has always been fond of using.
More interesting was Teal’c’s story, but that may simple be because he’s one of my favorite characters.
Seemed like a bit of a filler episode to me really. But on the plus side it looks like it might be building up to something big in a few weeks.
Okay, so now it’s over to you guys. What did you think of this week’s episode?

There is no doubt that this was a filler episode however, the potential is enormous. The Arthurian legend would be a perfect foil for the SGC. The Knights of the Round Table (as we all suspect) are the SG teams especially, SG-1, seeking the Holy Grail, traveling from planet to planet trying to find it.
