Stargate SG-1 Movies To Follow TV Series
SciFi Wire is reporting (and you figure they ought to know) that while the 10th Season of Stargate SG-1 is going to be the last, there will be at least two movies produced to wrap up any loose ends.
Now don’t get too excited, we’re talking made for DVD movies here, but that would still probably give them a budget as good as a couple of episodes of the TV show. Apparently MGM has already green light and budgeted for these two movies.
Currently the plan is for the first movie to tie up lose ends from the series finale and it’s being seen as the “climax of the Ori storyline” (which makes me wonder what sort of finale they have in mind for the series). The second movie will apparently involve time travel in some fashion.
Right now there are no deals signed with any of SG-1’s stars, but apparently several of the actors are eager to continue in their roles. I’d have to speculate that a certain much missed member of the cast might be interested in something like this that doesn’t take him away from home for half the year.
I do wonder about the season and series finale though now. Are they just going to throw us another cliffhanger and use that to sell these DVD movies?

As long as SG1 continues, whether it’s in a full length movie, mini-series, or straight to dvd, I will continue to watch, follow, and love it! My only hope is that Ben Browder and Claudia Black remain part of SG1, and that the integrity of the storylines aren’t rewritten or compromised. Long live the Stargates!

Actually, they DID leave a cliffhanger. No resolution involving the latest interstellar threat,
just got out of the time field and went on about business as usual. I liked the episode, but didn’t
like the fact that it was used as a series finale. Oh well, they have provided years of entertainment
so I won’t begrudge them a little thing like the finale.

I’ve enjoyed the show Stargate SG-1 very much, Season 9 & 10 I stopped watching because of its widescreen format but I did listen to the soundtrack from another room while those around me that don’t care about the format watched it. I am anticepating the movies to come to dvd upon their completion. I just hope the producers have the sence to release it on one dvd in both formats. I would have loved to have purchased the entire 10 seasons, but the wide screen format ruins it for me. when will these producers wise up and put all their movies on one disc in both formats. That should make everyone happy.
