Stargate SG-1 Season 10 Adds New Character
According to Stargate SG-1 executive producer Brad Wright, the 10th season of the long running science fiction show will add a new recurring character to the mix. The character, which has not been cast yet, is Adria, the leader of the Ori in our galaxy.
We will see the new character in the very first episode of season 10, Flesh and Blood which will premiere on the SciFi Channel in July. Initially the character will appear as a young girl or, “various stages of a young girl”. Later in the series we will see Adria as a full grown woman.
Clearly then season 10 of Stargate SG-1 will take up right where season 9 left off with the Ori quickly establishing themselves in our galaxy. If I was to speculate, I might think that Vala’s pregnancy will play a key role in the appearance of Adria.
One of the things that was noticeably lacking from SG-1 season 9 was a central opponent. Yes we had the Ori, but without a specific person representing them the resulting stories were rather fragmented. Having a single focal point leader may help this.
Speaking of Vala, actress Claudia Black will be joining the show full time as a regular cast member this season alongside Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge and Beau Bridges.
