Stargate SG-1 Season 8 DVD Boxed Set
The eigth season of Stargate SG-1 comes out on DVD in a boxed set on October 4th 2005. The set which comprises of 5 DVDs includes every episode from season 8 in widescreen format.
Season 8 of Stargate SG-1 includes the episodes New Order (Parts 1 and 2) which introduces the spinoff series Stargate: Atlantis. Later episodes also re-introduce the Replicators and feature the first appearance of Vala, played by Claudia Black. Towards the end of the season you can watch the final encounter with the replicators. Threads gives us the final fate of Anubis, while Moebius Parts 1 and 2 is a two parter which rounds out the season with a time travel story.
Season 8 of Stargate SG-1 is the last season where the SG-1 team is lead by O’Neill (played by Richard Dean Anderson). The writers knew this fairly early on and the final two episodes do try to draw some closure to his ongoing storylines. In particular there is a strong hint about what happens to his relationship with Carter.
