StarTrek.com Will Not Close (For the moment)
I’m not sure if this qualifies as good news for Star Trek fans, but at least it’s not bad news. It was widely reported earlier in December that StarTrek.com the official Star Trek website would be closing down on December 31st 2005.
However it seems that Paramount who own the Star Trek franchise have had a change of heart and will be keeping the StarTrek.com website open after all as a tribute to the 40 year old franchise.
The reason given for this sudden change is the overwhelming response of Star Trek fans on hearing the news that the website was to close. So for the moment at least it looks like fans of the Star Trek series can look forward to visiting to the site for the latest news on the future of the franchise.
