Superman Returns Trailer Debuts at Comic-Con

Bryan Singer debuted the trailer for his Superman Returns movies at Comic-Con International in San Diego yesterday (July 16th). The showing of the trailer apaprently gained a standing ovation from the fans who were present.

The trailer features the voices of Marlon Brando as Jor-El and Susannah York as lara from the original 1978 Superman film and the new score apparently incorporates John Williams now famous Superman theme from that film too.

The look of Superman lives is apparently inspired by the classic Max Fleischer animated superman cartoons. Amongst other things in the trailer are shots of the Kent farm in Smallville; Clark Ketn and Jimmy Olsen in a bar, shots of Metropolis (which looks very art-deco apparently) and ending with a shot of Superman flying from space back to Earth.

Superman returns is set for release on June 30th 2006.

Eoghann Irving is amongst other things the creator and Editor of Solar Flare. He has a life long interest in all forms of science fiction and fantasy and a pressing need to share this interest with anyone who will listen. Find out more at his personal website eoghann.com..
